New word ~ “wear on”

I learned new word -“ wear on “from the Chapter 14 Of “The Third Ear” recently .

Original sentence:
As the evening wore on, and as I continued to listen, and match,  and flow with the sounds the feeling started coming over me that I sort of understood what was going on.

“ wear on “ means “ time is slowly passing “

I try to practice making up sentences:

  1. Sam felt more confident about mastering the sense of English language as the week wore on.
  2. As the time wore on, our understanding of each other has deepened, and cooperation has become more and more tacit.
