My hometown is in Shandong province, where winter temperature can drop to minus ten degrees. Our hometown doesn’t have any heating. Beijing is still cold in winter.

This year, I have a baby girl. we have underfloor heating in the house. As a result, we wear shorts and short sleeves indoors. It’s good for our daughter to crawl on the floor when she’s dressed in light clothes. However, If we go back to our hometown, we should need to wear thick clothes all the time, because there has no heating in the house. 

I haven’t been back to my hometown to celebrate the New Year in five years. The first three years, I couldn’t go because of the covid-19. I gave birth to my baby last year. I have been afraid of the cold weather and the long journey home.

I dreamed a dream that I celebrated the New Year with my relatives and my family. I decided to go back next year.
