Creating New Words (Lesson465)
On the last two pages, the author said a new word – audibol. I think “audibol” is means the comprehension from the sound. And the author stressed the idea that the new word help people understand new things in modern world. As the author said, the new word alway put a abstract idea into a simple packet. Then the idea could be rememeber and communicate. In other words, people actually so lazy that would invent the specific word to instead of the long sentence, then they could communicate more effectively and quickly.

Not just English, I came across new words that have been created in Chinese in the last few years. Next, I will talk about some new words in Chinese.

“社牛” means the people who are very good at socializing. “社牛”short for “社交牛人”. This kind person like to meet and talk with the other people, they have contact with people whatever online or real life. These people are outgoing. They feel happy and satisfaied when they are contact with otherones. The opposite word is “社恐”， short for “社交恐惧”. it means the people are fear of socializing. This kind person are fearful of being embarrassed or judged by other, even they might be afraid to eat in front of someone else. In fact, when they are in the exact same situation, for example, contact with people in real life, “社牛”’s battery will are getting recharged, “社恐”’s battery will are using much. Recently, I also heared another word – “社杂”, it means the mixture of “社牛”and“社恐”. These person probably sometimes like to contact with people, sometimes just like being alone. I think these words are very vivid.

And as “EMO” short for “Emotion”, the word “emo” is popular in Chinese Internet network. It means depressed. Young person will say “today I feel emo because I felt out of love” in China internet. Acutually,even if “Emotion” is a English word, but “EMO” has a new description. That’s amazing for a language, it may change the meaning with the country.

With the rapid development of the network, many more words were created. We even don’t know who made it, we just use it. That’s all. It’s common the world over that people like to save energy. So we will constantly create more and more new words in Chinese or English in future, whatever any other language.
