Audibols and Their Importance (Lesson471)

In the last two pages, the author always focus on the new word – audibal that is he created. As the author says, in order to distinguish between the spoken word and the traditional written word, he created a new word – audibol. Audibol is means auditory symbol. Human being make sounds to create some audibols. Then the other people listen the audibols and know the meaning. This process is a conversation. Audibol is different from word, it’s just about the sound.

As I said before, humans are naturally lazy. We improved the level of science and technology so that ultimately save ourselves energy to do the same thing. Obviouly, creating new words is no exception. For example, one meaning takes a long paragraph to explain, or you can choose only one new word, which would you choose? I think you will choose a new word. The reason is simple, it’s convenient. And the new word always morden, popular and cool. Because the new word is vivid, it shows the situation visually. Sometimes, a person can’t vividly describe a situation, at that time, just a word, maybe can solved the embarrassing situation.

In recent days I have came across the new word in Chinese on the internet. One of the new words is “躺平”. The literal meaning is the action of lying falt on the ground. Actucally the extended meaning is the state of nothing is required other than basic living. I’ve seen some people translate it as “quiet quitting”. It’s vivid. The person want to “躺平” is means they quiet quitting many things about endless competitions in the work or life, they just become quitely live. Maybe they just live normally, they don’t want to social and just want to maintain a minimum standdard of living. Maybe they will happy or sad. It’s their freedom. In fact, I think such people are a lot like plants. They always take good care of theirselves but don’t get in the way of others.

The opposite of “躺平” is “卷” in Chinese in the morden world. The literal meaning of “卷” is simple, just a action of curl. But in morden China, it’s means competition. As we all know, Chinese are always working hard, both adults and children. It can even be said competition is a popular culture in morden China. People like to “卷” who often be boasted in news. In my opinion, we don’t need to do that. Everyone has a right to choose their lifestyle.
