Making up situational dialogue ~ What’s going on?

The topic of today’s dialogue practice was about losing something. Based on the course dialogue, I tried to lengthen the situational dialogue and imagine how I would express it under such situation.

A: Hey,what’s going on? You seem upset.
B:I have lost my luggage.
A:I am sorry to hear that. Did you lose anything else?
B: I also lost my wallet.
A: That’s not good.
B: No, and I am very unhappy about it.
A : Was there an ID card in the wallet ?
B : Yes. In addition , there was 2000 dollars in it.
A : Let’s rush to the police and report the loss.
B : I have just been to the police station.
A : Hope to find it as soon as possible.

Extending the dialogues the way you are doing is a great way to explore new ideas and expressions.

Since B: went to the police station, I would be very curious. I might ask: “What did they say”? or “Do they think it’s possible to find the wallet?”

True story: I once lost my wallet on a bus in Chongqing. It was picked from my pocket. I did get the wallet back – about 2 months later, when the Public Security office in Beijing called me and asked me to go to their office. The money was gone, but I did get the wallet back.
