I learned new idiom-“slip of the tongue “from the Chapter 15 Of “The Third Ear” recently .
Original sentence:
“He knows that the people he is talking to are just waiting for him to make a mistake, listening very hard for that slight slip of the tongue.”
“ slip of the tongue “ means
“ a small mistake in something someone say “
I try to practice making up sentences :
1. A slip of the tongue made me say Mina instead of Mia.
2. If Zoe hadn’t made a slip of the tongue, no one would have known our secrets.
3. Did I say “ 98765”? Oh ! I’m sorry for that slip of the tongue, it’s “98756”,not “98765”.
