recall

Today I saw this text in a book :

Trying to recall what you are learning is more effective than just reading the material repeatedly.

The author said, ” recall that this action is called retrieval.”

And “We must extract the focus in our minds instead of passively reading them over and over again.

We often mistakenly think that we have read it is equivalent to have understood it, but in fact, it is not like this.

We need to train ourselves to think back and express (speak out) our understanding.

Then what we read can really become our own thing.

This is a very good point about the difference between recall memory and recognition memory. And, trying to recall things and use them definitely trains our memory to be much stronger.
