Four topic ideas:
1. What does the author say about people learning foreign languages, and how easy ( or hard ) that is?
Many people believe they don’t have new language learning talent. So they feel to learn new language difficult.
2. Tell the story about the nan on the ferry ordering the noodles.
The story tells us that man tried to speak a foreign language – Cantonese. Although he speaks “ daan meen “ of Cantonese well, he doesn’t speak it to order the noodles. He threw away the first win.
3. Discuss why it’s important to learn a foreign language.
Because learning a foreign language can open your eyes and learn about different countries culture.
4. Talk about a time when someone ( maybe you )tried to speak in English but gave up.
My friend and I learn English together in the English class. We say “ good morning “ to each other in English every morning. We just say it for a time, then we don’t say it in English. Because we don’t know what to say anymore.
