The last week I learned the pages about resons to bother. It describes a story that in one’s brain, if he stands in front of the post office door and is faced with the street there is a coffee shop down the street on his right hand side. However, if he is faced with the post office, the result or the description of the position of the coffee shop would be opposite. In these words above, the position of the person is missed. This situation always happend in the process of interpreting too. In interpretation, some information is omited, resulting in some misunderstandings. It can’t blame to the interpreter, because he has learned the meaning of the specific words in class and known the cultural story behind the word, but he can’t speak in real time. Thus, in order to communicate with foreigners smoothly, it is important to learn their cultural histories and personal stories through their languages.
As for the misunderstanding, when I want eat something in the table but that I can’t reach for, I would point the food particularly to ask my mom, but sometimes she couldn’t get my idea, as a result, she might give the food I didn’t want or ask my request again.
I am learning English now cuz I wanna to travel around the world and study abroad and English is the mean language in the world. In addition, I learn English more precisely, I could know more western culture, and I think this would help me read books from western authors. For example, if I learn an English story, the story appears in the book and I could understand the context of the book better for the meaning behind the story.
