Thinking affects learning (Lesson 419)

Thinking affects learning (Lesson 419)

Let me talk about the swimming again. As I said above, I practiced many times the swimming actions that the caoch taught me at first. But I have a most important problem that I would be affaid fear of the pool water. Exactly, I just afraid of the feeling that is immersing in the pool water. There is a losing control feeling. So I don’t like it actually. The result is I still learned swimming truly. I can make some perfect swimming action, and I felt like I master the breath skill in pool water. But I don’t be relax and comfortable in pool water. I would feel so nervers, beacuse I feel I will die If I always in the water. At this time, I totally can not used my any swimming skill, it’s almost a waste of time.

It’s not good to stay like this all the time. Afterwards, I asked my coach what do I do? He said, you should embrance the water, rather than resist the water. Water is soft, but it’s also hard. You agaist the water, you will feel it’s hard and you can’t breath and want to run out of water. But when you embrance water, you will find water is soft and you are free and calm in the water. Then the coach advised me hold my breath for one mintue in the swimming pool with a calm mind. I tried it a few times. Amazing, I really feel in the water, even my sleep is better in that time. The endig is certainly I like to soak in the water to shift my mind. after all, water most of the time is soft.

Until now, I would have a deep thought in the water to relax. I understood the importance of changing in think through my experience of learn to swim. Language learning is a complex skill too, like swmming. Swimming is a combination of actions, the breath skill and mental strategy. You should learned the standard action, and preactice more and more times. What’s more, you can swim with a relax mind, then you can control own breath in the water. I think the language learning is same. You probably learning many more grammar and words, but you always be nervers even afraid of the conversation in a forgeign language. Well, I think we should adjust our mind. Learning a language should be relax and fun. let’s enjoy the process!
